Staunton Youth Council is a group of high school students who volunteer at events and hold fundraisers to better our community. In the past, SYC has helped with numerous community events. These such events include:

 
*   Helping Staunton Mason's with their annual Turkey Dinner

*   Ringing Bells for the Salvation Army
*   Participating in benefit walks for Multiple Sclerosis and holding numerous fundraisers to raise funds
*   Volunteering to help fingerprint children for the IL Chip Program
*   Hosting a food scavenger hunt & a Trivia Night to benefit the Food Pantry
*   Hosting a Walk-N-Wag event to raise money for the local animal shelter
*   Donating gifts to the Adopt-A-Family program for local less fortunate families

*   Holding a used-book drive to raise funds for the Staunton Public Library

 

and much more! SYC is constantly adding new events to their calendars!

 
The students in this organization are self-motivated to participate in these events that result in self-satisfaction. These students learn numerous life lessons, including responsibility, event planning, organization skills, teamwork, respect, and the feeling of success. SYC is a group of sincere high school students who are willing to give up their free time to help better the community they live in. We will be hosting numerous events in the near future, so keep checking the calendar of events!
